The Italian company Ice Yachts won this year’s Asian Marine & Boating Award with its new  Ice 52 RS for sailing yachts over 45 feet. Announced at the China International Boat Show in Shanghai, the prize recognizes design and innovation excellence.

The yard builds entirely in-house, from glass fiber-carbon hull to interior carpentry, and stresses craft precision. This fast cruiser is designed for outstanding regatta performance on all points of sail and comfort for passage-making. It has a reverse bow, open stern and several bowsprit options.

The vacuum-infused hull offers lightness and strength. The Weldox fin keel has a CNC-shaped bulb to reduce weight and improve righting moment. The deck features oversized fittings, spacious cockpit and elegant design. Shrouds are connected directly to the hull. Lack of runners and minimal genoa-main overlap contribute to easy handling. Below decks, ultralight panels and lithium batteries further reduce weight. The 75 hp engine can push the boat above nine knots and the garage has room for an inflated 2.85 m tender.
