Here’s a tip to help reduce the environmental impact of routine boat maintenance. BLU, a two-component filler manufactured by the Italian firm Ilpa Adesivi, is an eco-friendly, styrene-free putty.

Company literature indicates that volatile organics content respects European directive maximums. The product contains no solvents considered harmful to human health and is completely odorless.

Made from high-boiling-point acrylic and met-acrylic solvents and unsaturated polyester resins, it dries very quickly and is suitable for a wide variety of applications. It can bind polystyrene, steel, aluminum, plastic, wood, glass and other materials, and can be painted with any professional product.
