The Scanstrut ROKK Charge+ waterproof USB socket was nominated for a DAME Deck Equipment, Sails and Rigging award at the 2017 METS marine equipment trade show in Amsterdam.

The UK manufacturer says it’s a world first, and the only charge outlet that is both waterproof and capable of rapid charging—up to three times faster than standard USB sockets. It enables users to run digital charts on full-brightness smartphones while augmenting battery reserves.

The IPX6 unit is waterproof with one, two or no devices connected. Low-profile and easy to install, it has a locking, anti-snag cover that aligns cables when closed. Input voltage range is 12-24 V, while output voltage is 5 V +/-5%. Total output current is 4.2 A.
