More than half of the world’s superyachts are built in Italy’s shipyards and the country saw total sales of 3.4 billion euros in 2016 in the leisure boat industry, an increase of 18.6% from 2015, according to the Salone Nautico di Genova.
Boat Lift from Italy showcased their lifting and handling systems at the Dubai International Boat Show including boat hoists, self-propelled trailers, and amphibious carts as well as industrial trucks. Mobile boat hoists by Boat Lift are ideal for use at any dock where craft hauling is required. It is a safe and reliable system that allows for wheel alignment of the craft due to the electronic control steering. Additionally, boat hoists are equipped with the latest technology making it easier for the machine operator to select the gear modes with just radio control. Taking things a step further, machines can be checked remotely for any flaws by the tele-assistance service directly from the workshop in Italy via a router installed in the PLC, an industrial computer control system. The boat haulers are also equipped with puncture-proof polyurethane foam-filled tires, thus keeping the operator safe and the craft stable during transportation.
Gianpaolo Bruno, trade commissioner to the UAE, Oman and Pakistan, said: “2017 saw the increase of Italian leisure boat exports to the UAE by 100% from 2016, worth 15 million euros. Considering that the Dubai International Boat Show is focused on the leisure industry covering yachts and mega-yachts, it is an important platform for us to present the whole value chain of the Italian maritime industry, particularly related to the leisure boat industry.”
