We are at the Cannes Yachting Festival, Europe’s leading in-water boat show.
The festival celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, with over 600 superyachts, sailboats and multihulls exhibited in the city’s two ports. But today, we’re mainly interested in foils.
Foils are those small carbon wings beneath the hull which enable the boat to rise above water and gain considerable speed. This augmented speed capability has fueled a certain foil mania. Over recent years, manufacturers have been competing to release the next standout technology.
SEAir is one of those companies. Last July, the startup shook the nautical scene with the world’s first rigid inflatable with foils. This opens the path to foils for all.
