TeamO’s Autolock Tether received a nomination for a DAME award in the Lifesaving and Safety Equipment category at this year’s Amsterdam METS marine equipment trade show.

The British manufacturer calls it “a breakthrough innovation in tether design” because it adjusts automatically to the sailor’s position onboard, yet locks to break a fall when suddenly under load. The tether clips to a life jacket, the lightweight reel enabling it to extend and retract as the wearer moves around the deck. This lessens the tripping hazard inherent in overly-long tethers.
