Bolidt has launched a new, innovative glow-in-the-dark decking solution, Bolideck Glow, that improves energy efficiency by reducing lighting requirements. In exterior applications it harvests and stores solar energy during the day which can be used for night-time lighting.
The system also provides safety benefits by illuminating escape routes and signage. It can be integrated with its Bolideck Select and Bolideck Future Teak decking systems that are already used on cruise ships worldwide.
Bolidt has received an order for this flooring technology from Royal Caribbean International, which will install it aboard its Harmony of the Seas and Symphony of the Seas cruise ships. STX France is scheduled to deliver the latter in 2018. The material will cover a 350 m2 area at the top of the 10-deck “ultimate abyss” slide.
