{CIBS} The Most Innovative Company

This year’s China International Boat Show in Shanghai saw Victron Energy haul in the Most Innovative Company award. The Dutch firm beat out competitors from throughout the marine sector with its Quattro inverter/chargers and other recent products.

The 15 kVA Quattro can be connected to two different AC sources—for example, shore power and a generator—and automatically connects to the active source. If power fails, it maintains supply with a lag of less than 20 milliseconds, protecting computers and other electronic equipment.

Other new products include two models of the SmartSolar charge controller, offering maximum power point tracking to increase efficiency. The Skylla marine charger comes in several input/output voltage and amperage configurations. Its IP44 rating indicates protection from spray from any direction. It is also built to withstand the heat, humidity and salt air of the marine environment. Circuit boards have acrylic coating and temperature sensors ensure that components operate within predetermined limits.
